Privacy Policy
Short version: Hole In Your Pocket does not connect to your bank, import your transactions, or sell your personal information. We collect only the information needed to run the app and the information you choose to save in it.
What we collect
When you use Hole In Your Pocket, we may collect:
- your account email and basic account information
- Purchase Memory entries
- Household Inventory information
- Shopping Lists
- Home Snapshots and photos you choose to upload
- Buy or Bye answers and saved decisions
- Subscription Check information
- Scam Check answers, notes, and evidence files you choose to save
- Money Protected entries
- membership and billing status needed to manage access to the app
Most of this information is entered directly by you.
What we do not collect
Hole In Your Pocket does not:
- connect to your bank account
- import your banking transactions
- scan your bank activity
- automatically read your purchases
- use AI to scan your receipts
- sell your personal information
Payments
Membership payments are processed by Stripe.
Hole In Your Pocket does not directly store your full payment-card details.
Stripe may collect and retain information necessary to process payments, subscriptions, refunds, receipts, fraud prevention, and financial recordkeeping under Stripe's own privacy and retention practices.
How we use your information
We use your information only as needed to:
- provide the features of Hole In Your Pocket
- save and display the information you enter
- manage your account and membership
- process or verify billing status
- maintain the security and operation of the service
- respond to account or billing problems
Service providers
Hole In Your Pocket relies on third-party service providers for services such as hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, and payment processing.
Those providers may process information as necessary to provide those services.
Your data, your call
You may permanently delete your Hole In Your Pocket account from Settings.
Deleting your account removes your HIYP account and associated app data, including saved records and user-uploaded files, as described in our account-deletion process.
Deleting your HIYP account does not necessarily delete payment records that Stripe is required or permitted to retain, such as invoices, charges, refunds, receipts, or transaction history.
Cancelling a membership is different from deleting an account.
If you cancel your membership, your saved HIYP information remains associated with your account so it is available if you resubscribe later.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account information and user data. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Hole In Your Pocket changes. If a material change affects how we handle your personal information, we will provide reasonable notice.
